This really isn’t the sort of pep talk Yori wants to hear, Genchu!

Gench: Sometimes you have to sacrifice one person to save many more.
    **Ricardo pops in**
    Ricardo: I completely agree.

    • Turul

      That’s right! Let’s sacrifice Ricardo!

  • clogboy

Well, can’t blame him for feeling betrayed, because that’s exactly what happened. And whether she betrayed him with his own brother or with the greater good doesn’t really matter at this point in time.
It’s hard to disagree with either of their viewpoints (Yori’s or Genchu).

    • AlmondMagnum

It’s very easy to disagree with Genchu’s. You just have to disagree with his assumption that it’ll work in anything but the shortest of terms.

      • clogboy

And I do. The momentum of the Wataro military force is broken, and Ina’s father has the opportunity to dispell the false rumours of him gathering the other clans against the Wataro and account for his whereabouts.
Can’t remember, but wouldn’t it be a nice hattrick if the Ninja clan also divulged to him who ordered his capture. Giving you one discredited heir and a duped Daimyo.

  • rdisbr

welp, looks like it’s time to take a break, and come back when I can binge through this arc

  • Turul

Yori got his teacher back, and he’s right back to giving him lessons. :)

    • clogboy

And not doing a bad job. A first heartbreak is rough to get over. Could take a while. But they’re a rite of passage and he’ll be stronger for it. Whether he’ll trust Ina (or anyone else) like before is an entirely different story.

Imagine he’d have to have this heart to heart with Ken. Or Maru. Cho? Maybe doing half as well as Genchu, but more cryptic. And I’m glad he isn’t bothering Masuhiro with this.

      • Turul

Well, Cho does pretty well as a confidant, now that Yori has learned
to understand Choisms! But I think Genchu might have missed having the
        job.

      • animalia555

How be and Ken beat the stuffing out of each other? I’d imagine right now they BOTH need to blow off some steam.

        • clogboy

I’m actually curious about him now. Would he open up, though?

  • Kid Chaos

“…But Bismarck Ina had a plan; Bismarck Ina always had a plan.” 😎

  • David Connors

Yeah, get through it and move on. If people betraying you was grounds to give up, nobody would’ve even survived the Feudal Era. Time to find something else to keep you going.

    • animalia555

      Like booze?!

    • animalia555

Seriously I am beginning to see why so many people became hermits in those times. Maybe it’s me, but if you feel like you are on the verges of loosing your sources of identity and you’re only choices are to
      A) cling to it while hurting it others,
      B) Kill yourself
      or
      C) retreat from the world
      I’d pick C

  • Da’Zlein

“By the way, you’re still going to have to fight the rest of the Demons of Sorrow.”
“What? But if Eijiro is the official heir for the sake of the marriage then I get declared heir because I won, wouldn’t that mean the entire arranged marriage could be under false pretenses?”
“Doesn’t matter, you still gotta prove yourself”

    • KungFuKlobber

      “You mean Uso and Ryoku?”
      “Ryo-who?”
      “Don’t worry about it.”

  • Archangel

    An important distinction.

  • Hfar

Yori is just mad that Genchu yoinked the last kill on the Demons of Sorrow, thereby ending his perfect streak and barring him from the “Sorrow No More” achievement.

    • Ilmari

      You. Genius.

      • Hfar

        Thank ya.

  • AmberOne

    ……
    Duuuuuuude. Where is Ina’s sister?

  • Crestlinger

Clearly he needs a certain nurse for some healing.

  • Frank Royce Harr

No, but it’s the right one.
