That raises an interesting question. Would Masuhiro beat Cho in a fight? Cho’s certainly more reliable as he doesn’t completely fail against 50% of people, but Masuhiro has shown more badass against male opponents.
I… I don’t… I can’t…
=O.o=
Seriously, these ninjas should have just stayed in bed… they don’t know what the heck is going on anymore, and Ayane’s just had her hopes dashed against the rocks about being rescued from a half-naked, unarmed prisoner… who’s holding her rope, Yori (who’s been the ninja’s target for so long that most of us forget when it started), a blind Taoist monk who seems to be able to get around without the use of a walking staff, and Masuhiro’s daughter.
I can only imagine Ayane’s face when the bandits performed the triplecross.
It’s NINJA. Not ninjas. There is NO S added to it. Japanese do not pluarize things. You can have 1 or a 1 million ninja and its still just ninja. With no S.
We actually made a conscious decision to have the main cast say ‘ninjas’ because it sounds funnier. The ninja characters themselves don’t pluralize ninja with an ‘s’.
I’ve only recently seen that the comic restarted and I have only catched up yesterday (when I started writing this comment, because now when I finished writing it’s past midnight), 6 february, which coincidentally was Saint Paulo Miki remembration day; that said, I wonder if he will appear, even in a brief cameo?
Speaking of saints and related stuff, I see the christian priest and the indian guru of phorphecy have arrived; could it be that the End of the World is actually the name of the bar in which they will meet, like in the movie of the same name that was released not long ago?
Do you think that anyone will ever dub your comics and put them in collections like the one in the link?
Now actually commenting this page! Triplecross? Are Fumio and Fujio actually working for the Patriots- I mean, the Shogun? Are they secret triple agents like Ocelot? Will they found the precursors of the Shinsegumi?
Will a sequel of NNFB be placed during the Boshin war and follow the adventures of their descendants in the Shinsegumi? (Also note that 200 years later there could be multiple lines of descent, so all of the cast could be cousins and second cousins and 4th grade cousins, sometimes even not knowing it!)[It would be cool to have a sequel in Boshin war even without the revelation that Fujio and Fumio actually work with the Patriots- I mean, the Shogun!]
Probably I also had something else to ask, but! Alas, I don’t remember, so I will settle with: Will this comment be answered Before the next page so I don’t have to copy it over?
Only time will tell!
SORRY, I’M STILL WATCHING THAT MGS VIDEO!! It’s hilarious. And welcome back to the comic! It’s still funny, I think! You know, we have totally tossed around the possibility of making an NN4B radio drama, but it would require a great deal of time and effort so we’re not really sure how to get that off the ground. Also, the sequel comic will take place in NEO TOKYO where the descendants of Fumio and Fujio become the Steel Samurai and the Pink Princess and future fight crime together.
Don’t expect to see an actual historical figures in the comic. We long ago decided to avoid real historical figures since NN4B is essentially a satirical version of a Feudal Japan through the lens of two american guys who liked a lot of anime in high school.
Also, I responded before the next update, hooray!
I never played Jade Empire (NO XBOX!) but I have debated for some time picking it up on PC. There is a PC version now, isn’t there?
Glad you like it! And thank you. As for the Radio drama, maybe some of the commenters could volounteer to help?
NEO TOKIO you say? I’m not sure I’m catching all the references with the Steel Samurai and the Pink Princess though!
Fair enough about the historical part.
Congrats, for responding before the next update you get 7 short videos about black homour (I think?) involving 3 yakuza memberss dressed up as samurai!
That said; I didn’t get if you’re making the long awaited “Cho’s collection of Tao’s Aphorisms”! It would be really awesome if someone makes it.
Plus, I didn’t see any comment on the end of the world prophecy! Maybe I discovered your secret plan and you didn’t want it to be divulged and diverted the attention to the other questions?
Also one of the things I forgot last time!
If you liked Fire Emblem: Awakening (Which I finished and find the relationship conversations hilarious), maybe you should try Xcom: Enemy Within; It’s another turn-strategy based game and! It has waist high cover and big cluttered warehouses!
I’m very aware of Enemy Unknown. It’s on my interest list, but certainly my love of Fire Emblem came not from the strategy combat but from the great characterization (oh, and fantastic soundtrack). Not sure if X-Com could match that, even though I know it’s a great game, seeing how it one a number of Game of the Year awards for 2012. Also, I played the original X-Com on PC back in the day and loved it, but perma-death is just is just so stressful for me these days!
Unfortunately, I can’t share with you the future of Cho and his prophecy lest I get into SPOILERS. And as for the radio drama, even with volunteer help, we’d still need to write script, go through auditions with part readings, schedule recording times, make sure everyone has the right audio tech; it’s a lot of work!
The three ninja’s they were with versus Yori, Cho and (more importantly) Masuhiro.
Wasn’t really much of a choice.
That raises an interesting question. Would Masuhiro beat Cho in a fight? Cho’s certainly more reliable as he doesn’t completely fail against 50% of people, but Masuhiro has shown more badass against male opponents.
Step one :put cho in a dress
Step two: Cho tells a dirty sounding Taoist proverb
Step 3: Masuhiro gets flustered
Step 4:????
Profit
I think you meant “prophet”?
Cho can beat anyone!
… If it’s the will of the Tao
The deadly viper is death to all except the fluffy duckling.
Only if the Tao sees it worthy for him to win.
Cho wins, cho always wins. Well, except for that one time…
Cho, though it’s entirely likely that he would win without knowing he was in a fight in the first place X D
It was, perhaps, one of their wiser decisions.
Ironic That the most 1 dimensional characters are the most reliable.
Define ‘reliable’!
As in unsurprising
They’re like Loki, everyone knows they’re going to betray you!
Precisely
Fujio is Loki Fumio is Starscream
Fujio’s ninja hostage be all like “it can’t be true!!! You promised to go to my daughters wedding and let me wear the hat!!”
“The hat leaves my head over my cold, dead body!”
This is the part where Ayane says the trigger word and the brain washed bandits quadruple cross our heroes!!!
Manchurian candidates, the both of ‘me!
I didn’t know you had multiple personality disorder.
It auto corrected ’em to ‘me! Hilarity! That’s what I get for posting on an iPhone.
That’s a Sirious mistake.
Doublecross!
Triplecross!
C-C-C-Combo break!
Watch it, they’re going for pentacross.
Crossing spree!
Ninja crossing spree! Betrayal! Round over!
Kilininjaro!
Crosstacular!
Crosstastrophe!
Crosspocalypse!
The bandits are being very cross.
Don’t stream the crosses!
The bandits are doing their Hidden Fortress thing.
Nice Kurosawa reference
I was so excited to see another update this morning! I’m glad the bandits are still terrified of Mashiro
And they have every right to be! He’s a force of nature, like a sharknado in a cave.
Wouldn’t a sharknado not do well in a cave? I mean an underwater cave sure, but a normal cave might pose a problem. Or did you mean a landsharknado?
Yes, that’s what I meant!
I… I don’t… I can’t…
=O.o=

Oh, Ayane’s not taking this well, I assure you.
Wait…where did the knives that two of the ninjas were holding go? Fumio and Fujio don’t have them, they already have theirs.
They dropped them, what with the blades at their throats and all.
The better question is what happened to the bajillion weapons our bandit friends were carrying.
They gradually had less and less until they lost all but a knife shortly after switching to ninja outfits.
They still have them. The bandits slowly turned into video game characters!
Their weapon inventory slots are full.
How to Out Ninja a Ninja and Live to Tell About It by Fumio and Fujio.
The Ninja: There and Back Again
Under Wraps: A Ninja’s Life by Fujio (small print acknowledgement to “the guy that got me through it, Funio” )
NINJA MASKS! – THEY HIDE NOTHING!
It’s more a style thing!
They better get a crossing guard out there soon. People be crossing all willy-nilly.
I’m still laughing at this!

*sigh* Shush, Chatty Bandits.
Criss cross.
Extra Criss-spy
(yeah. I just went there)
