Grabbing loaded firearms out of other people’s hands, does that make Eijiro an action hero? Unfortunately, Yoko isn’t able to continue coloring the comic, but current reader and lead member of the ‘Unhealthy Obsession with Ken’ fanclub, Discorvid, has stepped up to the task. You may remember him from the mountains of incredible NN4B fanart he’s produced, and now he’s officially part of the team!

So Sony announced its next console of sorts, the PS4 Pro. For those not aware, it’s basically a PS4 with a better processor and other hardware, but running the same OS as the original PS4, and fully compatible with any PS4 games. It’s also the same price the PS4 was at launch, $400. I’m thinking about upgrading from my current PS4, except for one little problem. if I’m being totally honest, most of my gaming happens either on my PC, which is like 10000x better spec’d than any console, or on my WiiU, which happens to have all the console games I want to play this generation (I desperately want to play Tokyo Mirage Sessions FE). Then again, Last Guardian is incoming! That’s not likely to come out on PC any time soon, if ever. And I suppose getting the best performance out of Final Fantasy 15 would be ideal, if, like, I had any desire at all to play that terrible looking game. (shots fired!)

No wonder they got their ass handed to them by farmers.

    • http://www.nn4b.com suburban_samurai

Who knows, maybe that guy is a farmer conscripted into the Wataro army! Except he’s got a topknot and armor, so he’s probably a samurai. Maybe he’s just a really dumb guy for Eijiro to get angry at. The gun’s ergonomically designed to make the trigger’s purpose clear, after all!

  • charles81

So we have powder and the compression of it. Didn’t hear anything about a shot and maybe some padding being put in there… Can’t imagine their aim will be too good (or their elbow feel great) if they plan to hold the rifle like that.

    • http://www.nn4b.com suburban_samurai

It’s not going to be pretty.

  • elebenty

Coloring looks great! May take a little time getting used to the change in style, but that first panel is breathtaking.

    • http://www.nn4b.com suburban_samurai

We’re hop scotching coloring styles like nobody’s business!

  • Turul

So this is discorvid-colored? Those forests look amazing!

    • http://www.nn4b.com suburban_samurai

      I am agreed.

  • Sunwu

Ejiro is quite the little pistol

    • http://www.nn4b.com suburban_samurai

      he’s a pistol wielding a rifle.

      • Sunwu

        Gun ception

        • http://tapastic.com/series/Sun-Incarnate Discorvid

          🔥🔫

          • Sunwu

Oh god I would buy an Eijiro action figure SO fast!

  • Not Real

A working knowledge of how firearms work is different than a full technical understanding.

    These soldiers have neither.

    • SKy

Effectively using a gun is by far easier to learn than being a good sword fighter though.

      • http://www.nn4b.com suburban_samurai

I’m sure that soldier is an incredible swordsman. He’s only been holding the gun for a dozen minutes, so maybe in an hour he’ll be an expert marksman!

    • http://www.nn4b.com suburban_samurai

They’re the best of the best of the best. With honors.

  • Xinef

Next page – Eijiro looking into the barrel to see how the gun works.

    • Kid Chaos

“Careful, you’ll shoot your eye out!” 😜

      • Falling Star

        CURSES
        I WAS TOO LATE

        • Kid Chaos

My evil plan is working! :)

        • http://www.nn4b.com suburban_samurai

In this high stakes game of pop culture references, you gotta be fast or you’re dead!

    • http://www.nn4b.com suburban_samurai

The gun powder would pour into his face, classic!

    • Flaming Squirrel

I’d love to see the entire bad guy cast off themselves just trying to figure out how the guns work

  • clogboy
    • http://www.nn4b.com suburban_samurai

I’m totes not getting this reference! I assume it’s walking dead?

      • Not Real

        Walking Dead + Tropic Thunder

      • clogboy

it is. This boy was in real danger of becoming trigger happy, and Shane was the man’s partner from back when they were still cops (but turned into a loose canon).

  • leavescat

The trickiest bit is probably figuring out that the fuse needs to be lit. This isn’t a flintlock.

    • http://www.nn4b.com suburban_samurai

Eijiro’s smart. Maybe it’ll be his first step into teenage pyromania.

  • Arkone Axon

…He’s still being smarter than the opposing general. At least he’s willing to learn about the new technology and what it can offer them.

  • Falling Star

“Oh, you don’t want that! You’ll shoot your eye out!”

  • EBeth

Wow. I’ve never wanted Nataku to be right before…

    • http://www.nn4b.com suburban_samurai

We know Nataku prefers his bloodthirst up close and personal. Unfortunately, if/when he does see the tactical advantage, he’ll likely embrace firearms with animated zeal.

      • EBeth

Pretty much why I want him to be right. 😉 He is just so blissfully sadistic!
(But really, well written bad guys make for great stories! So it’s all good.)

  • SlugFiller

There are only so many flaps and wires to fiddle with, so that part should be easy. But I haven’t heard anything about putting a bullet or musket ball or anything down there. With just gun powder, it’d make an impressive boom, but wouldn’t actually shoot anything.

  • Renadt

Let it be known that the “stupid barbarian” came from the “barbarians” who invented the damn thing.

    • Kid Chaos

Luke Renadt, you will find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view. :)
