I don’t care that the Mythbusters busted arrow catching. They didn’t have Cho.

  • Sam Zalereth

Blind guys find all the cool stuff don’t they?

    • http://www.nn4b.com suburban_samurai

I wish I had a blind guy available to find my car keys sometimes.

  • Dorje

Clearly the Tao wants Cho to have arrows. Ninjas, Tao delivery boys since comic 33.

    • poo4nnfb

Yeah, that’s how I was gonna say it.

    • Da’Zlein

Wield the bow, Cho! Be the archer you were always meant to be!

  • KungFuKlobber

Last time he didn’t even know the arrows were there. I’m guessing Cho’s hat is to Cho what lead is to Superman.

    • jwkovell

The Tao must not care about arrows that aren’t going to hit anything vital. These seem a little more on target.

Yes, I just called Yorikiro’s leg not vital.

  • Kire Du’Hai

    But it WASN’T busted…
    http://mythbustersresults.com/return-of-the-ninja

He couldn’t do it consistently, or at quite full speed, or without plenty of room to see it coming…
    …But, well, that’s because he wasn’t Cho.

And besides, after seeing this guy cut a flying airsoft BB in two:

…I’m not about to call ANY ninja/samurai/kung fu myth “busted”.

    • http://www.nn4b.com suburban_samurai

I’m generally a skeptical person, but this I want to believe. Certainly the human body and mind are capable of some IMPLAUSIBLE feats.

      • Kire Du’Hai

The mark of a truly skeptical mind is one that doubts both the veracity and the falsity of a claim, and leaves the jury out indefinitely.

…That does not keep one from drawing conclusions, though – and from what I’ve seen, human beings can do some pretty incredible crap. Sure, it COULD all be faked… but I doubt it.

Though I confess some of it I just want to believe because it’s just too cool.

      • Ilmari

        Indeed.

“Why, just the other day, I was passing by a man who was shackled to the floor and ceiling, and I saw him ab-flex his chains loose, and lasso the guard with them in such a way that the key in his hand flew back directly into the lock of one cuff, spinning with enough force to turn the lock…”

  • ColdFusion

They didn’t have special high-friction hand wrappings either. The main problem is the arrow slides cleanly through your hand

  • Jonathan B

    Brilliant!

I love both Cho’s explanation and the deadpan response. “Right. Probably time to run.” So very perfect for both characters.

    • http://www.nn4b.com suburban_samurai

I was laughing while I drew this page, I found it that amusing.

  • Sunwu

Awww the Arrows just want to give Cho Sempai a hug because he’s kawaii.

    • MoveAlongCitizen

Unfortunately for them, Cho does NOT approve of Inappropriate touching.

  • charles81

On the 2nd day of Christmas my true love sent to me.
    two poisoned arrows
and a tao priest with a pointy hat.

    • http://www.nn4b.com suburban_samurai

The second gift would negate the first.

      • charles81

        Thats love for you.
One day they want to protect you
The next day they want to ninja you

  • Jaibyrd

“I heard that coming a mile away!”
    “RIght-o Blinkin, very good.”
    “Pardon? Who’s talking?”

    • http://www.nn4b.com suburban_samurai

      I approve this reference.

  • randompersonality

I just love Cho and his quirky arrow catching ways. ^_^ Ina’s line made me crack up so hard. lol

    • http://www.nn4b.com suburban_samurai

      Ina is a master tactician!

  • Gillsing

They can run, but they can’t hide. Because every good hiding spot is already occupied by a ninja.

I wonder if those were Yumiko’s arrows. That would probably annoy her.

    • http://www.nn4b.com suburban_samurai

      Yes, she’s very annoyed, probably!

  • Yacc

    Cool!

  • poo4nnfb

Wait a sec, it took me this long to wonder which feudal lord Genchu has been living nearest. Hopefully not Hirotomo…

  • Mohammad Raza Khan

There’s a Guinness World Record for catching arrows.
The Mythbusters mess up most of their biology stuff. They assume that since they, people who have never practiced it, cannot do it, no human can.

    • RobinGoodfellow

I like to assume that part of that is by design, since their fanbase tends to be comprised of people who’d like nothing better than to try every experiment themselves. Although if I remember correctly, they actually found someone who COULD catch arrows, but only in a controlled setting.
