I’m getting a distinct ‘poop hitting the fan’ vibe from this page.

I have acquired Disney Infinity 3.0, which is a dangerous prospect! Specifically it’s the Fall of the Republic starter set and some miscellaneous Star Wars figures. I remember how excited I was for Amiibo when they were announced, and I rode the hype train for a bit, but, wow, just the level of incompetence when it comes to the distribution of those things is staggering! Add to that the fact that Amiibo rarely do anything notable to add to a gaming experience and it’s hard to stay excited about them. In some ways that’s good, because many of them are so hard to get your hands on that it’d be frustrating if they were required for any meaningful content. On the other hand, if there were an Amiibo-specific game, as Disney Infinity is to its figures, I think that would be a pretty strong collector incentive!

Either way, though, falling down the toys-to-game vortex can be an expensive venture. But, uh, Star Wars! When DI 3.0 was announced and they showed off those great looking Star Wars figures,it was as if a million amiibo cried out in terror, and were suddenly silenced. Sorry, Captain Falcon, with your crotch stick, or yellow pee Link, or Zero Suit Samus and your poor carbonite encased leg, Disney Infinity figures do not have your awkwardly placed support structures! They’re also beautifully consistent in style and design. Oh, and they’re Star Wars (along with any other potential Disney owned property that I love, which is many)!!

Even if the game ends up being a big stinker (which seems unlikely considering the reviews), at least I’ll be able to fill up some of my empty shelf space with little Disney princesses.

  1. Well, SOMEONE’s doomed. I just haven’t figured out who, yet.

    • Renadt says:

      A lot of people are.

    • Kid Chaos says:

It’s Genchu. Even if he beats Nataku, there’s no way he can fight his way free and make a run for the Senshin lines. And even if he does, I don’t think that Ina & co. are back yet. I doubt that Gen. Tanaka or Lord Maru will recognize him or give him sanctuary.

This is the perfect time for Genchu to make a quick exit, stage left, and run for the hills. He can hook up with Ken & co. later (after they’ve finished taking their sweet time getting back from the ninja HQ, hint, hint!).

  2. IDPounder says:

If we’re breaking out the katanas, it’s safe to assume that this is NOT the general we were looking for.

  3. Gigi says:

In a general sense, it isn’t exactly all bad. But generally speaking, there might be some confusion on both sides.

  4. Sunwu says:

Gameshow announcer voice: “Oh I’m sorry ambassador but you chose the wrong general!!! But here’s what you could have won; A lasting peace with the Senshin with zero bloodshed, river rights and 5 trading posts of your choice and a life time supply Kadooshy-Os Cereal! Better luck next time on GENCHU’S JAPANESE GAMESHOW!!”

  5. Little Kingsguard says:

    “No.”

I see Genchu is a fan of understatement.

  6. charles81 says:

The standard DM rule of “Rocks fall. Everybody dies.” is now “Genchu draws is sword”

Peace and diplomacy are over, time to kill everyone, dump the bodies and destroy the cargo.

However, my suspicions are that he’ll soon find out the good general is also there, or that they are at war already. Either revelation could change things.

  7. Astralfury says:

Someone wishes he had taken Nataku’s trigger finger instead right now.

  8. Neska says:

The friendly fisherman is getting out a fancy sword . . . no, Mr. Hindu Guru, Nataku is NOT the right General . . . not unless you want the country torn apart with fire and bloodshed, then he’s totally your guy!

  9. Minando says:

Hey, stop ! What are you doing ?
What does it look like ? I´m going to cut my fingernails, of course.

    • “Personal hygiene is very important to me!”

      • Unhooked says:

This sword is forged from fine steel, folded a hundred times and a hundred times again. It is stronger than any other and sharp enough to cut through any metal or man. It is without a doubt the strongest sword in all of Japan…

I use it for my 6 o’clock shave.”

  10. Xinef says:

He’s just going to add the swords to the gifts for general Nataku, because everyone loves gifts, but just a crateful of guns is boring.

  11. KungFuKlobber says:

    Not-a cool.

  12. TheMaskedFerret says:

Genchu – because we don’t want Ina & Crew bringing swords to a gunfight.

  13. Piramid says:

    Pls dont notice the sword…>^<

  14. Flaming Squirrel says:

I don’t see what everyone has against Nataku. Sure he’s a murderous warmongering psychopath, but so is Ken, and nobody holds that against him! If there’s one thing I can’t stand, it’s double standards. Maybe if the good general got drunk, then we’d see him more as a human being.

    • Hey now, Ken’s a homicidal maniac with a heart of gold!

      • Flaming Squirrel says:

This guy gets it! We need to take a stand against this social injustice. How does this sound?

        *ahem*

People are people, no matter how many people they’ve killed, and they deserve to be treated like people! So what if Ken’s killed a few innocent civilians? Have you ever stepped on a bug? If so, then who are you to talk down to Ken? He’s been through more than you could ever imagine. And as for Nataku’s murdering an entire clan… did you know that you murder thousands of millions of innocent germs every time you apply Germ X to your hands? Yeah, not so pure and holy anymore, are you? It’s time to end the hate and stop the hypocrisy. Just remember what Jesus always said- judge not, lest ye be cut in half and your head stuck on a pike.

    • Xinef says:

That’s because holding anything against Ken would result in being KADOOSHED, while Nataku does not seem (yet) able to punish readers for their thoughts.

  15. Da'Zlein says:

You can tell from the sword that the party about to begin

  16. Hfar says:

And now it is time for “aggressive negotiations.” Yes, I used an Attack of the Clones reference. Please don’t hurt me.

  17. Insane Disciple says:

And there it is, sort of
