The plot never goes Ayane’s way.

  • Lady Courage

Dude. DUDE. MASUHIRO. I love my Dad, but, can I adopt you as my second Dad? Because there is no end to your awesomeness. And chillness.

    Yori though. XD So polite~

    • some random viewer

Don’t forget it is his father-in-law in prospect. You don’t want to mess that up.

    • suburban_samurai

Masuhiro used up all his dad points on his daughters, he’s fresh out of dad, all that remains now is a withered hunk of badass.

  • Kell Willsen

Tables turned at last! Distraction tactics work both ways, it seems.

    • suburban_samurai

Masuhiro was just waiting for an opening.

  • Pascalle Lepas

“LOL” just isn’t enough to express how I laughed at this page!

    • suburban_samurai

      This is the desired reaction.

  • Sam Zalereth

Ok he’s definitely getting nominated for “Badass Dad of the Year”

    • suburban_samurai

Any other nominations? No? Well, Masuhiro wins again. That’s the twentieth year in a row!

  • crazyman8472 .

Needs a “REVERSED!” sound effect. 😀

    • Kire Du’Hai

Nah… her face pretty much says it all by itself.

      • suburban_samurai

I toyed with a sound effect, but there wasn’t a lot of space for one! Maybe I passed up a great opportunity, though.

  • Charvale

This page has so much win!!!
Now all they have to do is get out, get Ken, and avoid the ninjas.
Why do I have a bad feeling about the ease of which I just typed that?

    • ShadeTail

There’s a difference between simple and easy. What you just typed is simple. ^_^x

      • suburban_samurai

They like to keep the plans simple to leave them open to improvisation, kind of like how we write the comic’s script!

        • Jake Frost

You keep using those words. I do not think it means what you think it means.

          • KungFuKlobber

So you’re saying their comments are …

          • Jake Frost

Apologies, I’ve no gift for rhyme. =)

          • Sunwu

better think fast there’s not enough time

          • Rezilia Grieves

            irresponsible, impractical….

And they showed me a world where I could be so undependable,

            Emotional, irrational, hopeful.

        • Scott Henry

        • crazyman8472 .

          Fezzik! Are there rocks ahead?

          • randompersonality

If there are, we’ll all be dead…

          • leavescat

Stop with the rhymes now, I mean it!

          • randompersonality

            Would anyone like a peanut?

        • This guy

  • sylverdrag

That was awesome, but not smart, because Ina can put 2 and 2 together: If he could escape easily at any time, why the hell was he letting that lady hog tie him?

Before, he had the excuse of being prisoner, but now … it’s gonna beg the question as to what he has been doing for the last month or so while everyone else was working.

    • Have a rock

He was trying to get information as to who hired the ninjas and why.

      • sylverdrag

For a month, and still playing tied up with scantily clad women? Ina isn’t gonna buy that one.

        • suburban_samurai

I assure you, Ina’s suspicion is through the roof right now.

    • Speedy Marsh

After spending most of the story in bondage, he’s gotten to like it.

If Ina thinks this is bad, just wait till they get home, and Ina walks in on her mom tying him up.

“You think those slutty ninjas punished you? Just wait till… Oh! Hi, dear… This isn’t what it looks like…”

  • Sunwu

Yes much to her father’s relief Ina didn’t do any of those things Ina did get that tattoo she wanted Cho does amazing work.

    • suburban_samurai

Cho does this unrivaled birdfish design.

  • reynard61

“Oh COME ON, that DID NOT just happen!”

That rope around your wrists would beg to differ…

    • suburban_samurai

One wonders how tight that knot is consider the haste in which is was constructed.

      • Eltharrion

Self-tightening knots are meant to work better the faster they are made, since, you know, they TIGHTEN THEMSELVES.

…Not that I’d have any special knowledge of binding or such… xD

  • Hfar

Huh. Who’d a thought Houdini was a Japanese warlord in a previous life?

    • suburban_samurai

Houdini was actually trained by ninjas.

      • Eltharrion

I thought it went the other way around.

  • Johannes Hjortshøj

I gotta say on top of it all Masuhiro is KNOT a badass.

    • some random viewer

Well, he certainly knows the ropes enough to tie up the storyline neatly.

      • Johannes Hjortshøj

Nice how you were able to string those puns together. Were they hard to enteine?

        • Hfar

I don’t think so. Radom Viewer seems quite cable-able when it comes to making rope puns.

          • mosey moss

Let’s not lose the thread of our story; it seems like Ayane’s at the end of her rope.

          • suburban_samurai

Puns continually impress me, they take true skill to weave together, but they are annoying by definition.

          • Ross Webb

I’m a-frayed you’re bound to get some ropey puns after 534 strips, but here’s the hitch – we love tying to thread together as many as pos-sisal. Although that last one was really twine to reel out one too many,,,

  • charles81

Thats why you’re 2nd fiddle to Suzuka… There’s a reason she would have had him drugged rather than conscious while she attempted to contain him.

By the way sir… we were being chased.

  • KungFuKlobber

Masuhiro brings new meaning to the expression rope-a-dope.

    • suburban_samurai

That would make Ayane a dope! SHE’S NOT A BAD NINJA! She’s just frequently confronted with poor circumstance.

  • Xanith

I bet she wishes she used Suzuka’s method now!

    • suburban_samurai

Ayane’s not a bad ninja! It’s just that her decisions are usually wrong.

  • sylverdrag

Now that I think of it, it’s better he didn’t do that before Ina arrived. It looked pretty bad when he was the one hog tied, but just imagine the other way around…

    • suburban_samurai

Apparently this COULD’VE been more awkward!

  • LibrarySpirit

You know, that wrist tie isn’t very secure. Just looping it like that only works in the movies. It really should be cinched between her wrists. As it is, Ayane could easily slip her hands out. This will probably come back to bite Masuhiro once Ayane gets over her surprise…

  • IsaWP

I have an extremely strong case of déjà vu when looking at the last panel. Hasn’t Ina done that pose (tied up hands included) before?

  • Scott Henry

  • CocoaNutCakery

I just want you to know that this is currently my favorite strip of the series.
And I say “currently,” but it has little chance of being beaten.

  • Shaowdragon

It like watching old spice commercials…

    • Speedy Marsh

“I don’t always drink cologne. But, when I do, I drink Old Spice.”

  • Dana

Oh, Masuhiro looks so sad in the first panel. *gives him cookies*

  • M. Northstar

Her expression in the fifth panel is priceless 😀

  • Neska

How does a samurai get such good ninja skills?
Was Masuhiro born ninja, then adopted by samurai?

  • HM

It’s confirmed. This is objectively the funniest strip in the entire comic.

    • suburban_samurai

      I feel vindicated!

  • Insane Disciple

    It did!!!

  • MoveAlongCitizen

So, we see now why Masuhiro is leader of his clan. Despite lacking in the strategic brilliance of his brother, I doubt there’s a man alive who could challenge him for his position.

  • Darkseide

    HA HA HA H
