Alex, my zoology classes were a long time ago, but do wolves have claws like that? They have toenails, but not claws like cats. I could see him, say, biting Genchu in the butt like a bad pun, but I think raking claw attacks only work if they’re Sabrewulf clan.

You know, ID, you’re right, it’s definitely a feline thing, and I think even as I was drawing it I’m like “this seems awkward and implausible”. That’s not a dig at Joe, he didn’t write “and then the dog scratches Genchu’s back,” that was all my doing. But you’re really the first to call it. Let’s say that the dog’s owner sharpens their toe nails and teaches them to use their front paws as weapons along with their teeth, why not. Or I could just redraw the first panel since I”m not terrible happy with it! But I probably won’t find the time.
