For anyone still dialed in to NN4B, I’m sure you’ve noticed we’ve been a little silent! Well, Joe’s been developing his 3D printing hobby into a respectable youtube channel, and I’ve, uh, mostly been working as a full time artist for the browser game flightrising.com, as well as drawing on and off and poking at the next comic project.
And so here is the next comic project announcement! I’ve gotten really into webtoons over the past few years, and when they announced a 2024 contest in December, I decided to enter. I don’t have any expectations of winning (there are, like, 3000 entries and a lot of them are incredibly good), but I DO have expectations of continuing this new story on the platform!
How to Radicalize of Trophy Wife is a scifi superpower romcom crime adventure (just mixing a few genres here) about Amarysa, the proud trophy wife of Castelon Ember, the richest man in the galaxy! She has everything she wants, and she worked (not very) hard to get it! But while attending a charity event for her husband’s latest financial endeavor, she encounters a mysterious blond man who may have her questioning the cost of her privileged existence!
The comedic tone of the HRTW is going to be very similar to that of NN4B, and although Joe’s pretty busy with his own projects, I’m still regularly bugging him for story and dialog feedback! The first three episodes that are currently online make up the requirements for the Webtoons contest entry, but I’m well on the way making further updates. I intend to make it a weekly update schedule like NN4B, but until the contest announcements are released on June 23rd, I’ll be continuing work on further updates and posting progress here and on social media. My tag for instagram, bluesky, and tumblr are all subsamjam. If anyone is out there still looking for more of our comic content, check it out! Leave a comment if you like, either here or on webtoon if you have an account (you don’t need a webtoon account to read it though).
I’m really looking forward to getting back into the comics swing!
